India: Dalai Lama leaves policy
The Dalai Lama announced Thursday his intention to resign from the role of political leader of Tibetans to make way for his successor a freely elected Parliament. The decision not unexpected, the spiritual leader because he had already anticipated this view in an interview last November 21. The Nobel Prize for Peace was appointed temporary leadership of Tibet in 1950. In 1959, due to the Chinese to leave his country and took refuge in Dharamsala, India, where he now lives with the government in exile.
